Sri Lanka is a year-round destination, thanks to its unique tropical climate influenced by two distinct monsoons. This characteristic makes the rainy and drier seasons variable depending on the region and time of year.
Generally speaking, the best time depends on the areas you want to explore:

West and south coast → the ideal months are January and February, after the Maha monsoon has passed.

East and North Coast → Best time is May to September.
That said, each month can offer interesting travel opportunities, making Sri Lanka a fascinating destination in any season.
